Conference Attendance Scholarship Program

Purpose:

The Western Central Chapter (WCC) has created the Conference Attendance Scholarship Program to make a conference more affordable for APA members who are new or experenced in the planning field and have never attended one of the following conferences:

  • National American Planning Association (APA) Conference
  • Western Planners Conference
  • Regional Conference within the four states of WCC( North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana)

Scholarship Amount:

  • Up to $500 per applicant, to be used for registration fees or travel expenses associated with one of the above listed conferences.
  • The WCC Executive COmmittee has budgeted for $1000 per year.

Application:

To apply, complete the application form and submit it to the President of the Western Central Chapter for consideration. The Executive Committee will consider the application at their next regular meeting or via E-Mail and the President will notify the applicant of the Committee's decision. The decision of the Committee shall be final.

Applicants shall apply as least two months prior to the conference date. Applicants will be notified of whether or not they have been granted the scholarship within one month of the conference.

Graduate Student Scholarship Program

Purpose:

The purpose of the Western Central Chapter (WCC) Graduate Student Scholarship Program is to financially assist graduate students majoring in urban, rural or regional planning or a related field. The student must reside within the WCC-APA Chapter region.

Related Fields:

Fields relating to urban planning include geography, public administration, urban policy or urban studies, environmental planning or other related fields approved by the WCC Executive Committee

Scholarship Amount:

  • $500 per applicant
  • The WCC Executive Committee has budgeted for $1000 per year.

Application:

To apply, the student will complete the application form and submit it to the President of the Western Central Chapter for consideration. The Executive Committee will consider the application at a meeting The President will notify the applicant of the Committee's decision. The decision of the Committee shall be final.
